Recognition Award for Outstanding Storytelling

THE SANDPIT wins the Recognition Award for Outstanding Storytelling at The Adelaide International Youth Film Festival.

is an annual event.  Previously operating as the Adelaide Kids Film Festival (AKFF), the interest from international filmmakers was too great for the festival to remain as a local event.  2016 saw the re-brand from the AKFF into the AIYFF, with a new focus and bigger vision.

The festival program will see short and feature films films made by established,  independent and emerging filmmakers eager to engage a youth audience.

The festival will be a feast of screenings, workshops, Q&A’s and amazing experiences with specially invited youth participants and guests from China, the US and Italy.

The AIYFF is also unique as the participants will be both the audience and jurors. Young people from differing backgrounds, will spend several days together watching movies, debating issues from different points of views, then voting on the films for special prizes.
